Otherwise I hope that Norton staff will pick up on this and sort out a more useful and consistent reporting on the app. If anyone has any suggestions how I might sort out this confusion I would be grateful. But I am now uncomfortable with and the reliability of Norton 360. Norton is not giving me any specific reason why it thinks it is dangerous and so I am inclined to leave it installed. I find the app useful, apparently un-intrusive, and one of the few apps that seems to reliably record voice telephone calls on my phone.

is Cube ACR dangerous malware as Norton says, or safe as Norton says? Then half an hour later (phone doing nothing in particular and no calls made or received) Norton once again took against Cube ACR. Having done this I got Norton to run a scan and it said all was well. So I uninstalled Cube ACR, rebooted, then re-installed Cube ACR from Google Play where Norton was still saying it was safe. Norton still reported Cube ACR as Malware. I have tried re-running the Norton scan and rebooting my device. However if I go to Google Play Norton still shows Cube ACR as "Safe". Today (29 August) it reported Cube ACR as Malware and recommended it should be removed. Norton 360 scans my device daily and has reported it safe for all the 6 months.
#Android malware speech recorder android#
I have had a voice call recording app (Cube ACR, by Cube Apps Limited) on my android phone for over 6 months, it was last updated on 11 August.

I would be grateful for a solution from the forum but accept that maybe the best that can be achieved in the short term is that Norton developers will pick up on this issue.
